Veterans Call
website.

Veterans Call was a charity app developed for the US market by the Australian startup, Activistic. It focused on supporting organisations that work with returned servicemen and women.

As the Senior UX and UI Designer at Pugh Morgan in 2016, I was responsible for managing the entire process, from planning through to the delivery of the project. I worked in conjunction with a copywriter, developer, art director, and client services.

As part of a series of projects for Activistic, we rebuilt the campaign website for the Veterans Call app. The campaign site needed to align with the new brand and be more successful in driving traffic to Google Play and the Apple App Store.

As usual, the turnaround was tight, and the build needed to be lean but effective.

We had already successfully designed and developed the parent site for Activistic in a very tight timeframe, utilising our agile-influenced approach. So, we opted to use the same methodology.

By staggering the design and development phases across multiple pages and working closely with the client, we were able to go from the initial brief to a deployed site in under a month.

To ensure we optimised the experience for mobile, we designed this project mobile-first. Making sure the layouts worked elegantly on all handheld devices, while optimising graphics and code to improve load-time.
This focus resulted in a better page rank from Google.

This combined with a more clearly articulated the story to potential donors was successful in driving a much higher volume of traffic to visit the app stores.
